She was born in (present-day) Croatia and lived in Zadar, a now Croatian city which was Italian before the War. But she married an Italian and represented Italy in 1948 as well, so we shall class her as Italian.
Her birth date (in truth 1917) was muddled up when she spent some years in the USA and listed as 1914. That date was kept in the records and it allowed her to compete in 2010 in the "over-95" category at the World Masters championships, when she was actually only 93.
