She was the youngest ever World Diving Champion (aged 12) and Olympic Champion
(not yet aged 14). This prompted the international federation to announce
a minimum age of 14 for competitive diving. She announced her retirement
after Atlanta, aged barely 18, but did continue to compete until Sydney
World Champion at highboard in 1991 and '94.
