The 1922 British Mount Everest expedition was awarded a special gold medal.
The expedition was said to be 160 man strong. Only the 13 Westerners are usually
mentioned, but the website also mentions the seven sherpas that died in an
avalanche. The other members deserve recognition too, in my opinion. A German book gives
the names of two interpreters, so I have decided to add 137 unknown Olympians.
These are of Indian, Nepali or Tibetan (= to be considered Chinese) nationality.
Just to provide total numbers of competitors, I assume 100 Indian, 30 Nepali and 7 Chinese
athletes.
