Great Olympians

Non-competing Olympians

Are classed as Olympians any athlete who "entered the field of play". In rare cases, their team is eliminated before they actually performed. This is especially possible in Relay races, if a previous athlete drops out of the race. Here are the times this occured:
  1. (8000) Francisco Villota (ESP/PEL/1900)
  2. (8000) José de Amezola (ESP/PEL/1900)
  3. (1500) Melvin Idarius (USA/BAS/1904),
    (1500) Carl Watson (USA/BAS/1904), and
(1500) Seth Collins (USA/BAS/1904) probably did not actually play, but their team won two matches by forfait.
  4. (4) Knowles McGill (CAN/BIA/1968)
  5. (0.01) Kebede Bedasso (ETH/1972) (uncertain)
  6. (2.56) Demetrio Velázquez (ARG/1980) (possible)
