In 2000, he rode Shear H2O, and in 2004 Shear L'Eau. Not a change of name, but two different horses, brothers.
Despite the name, his 2004 horse was afraid of water, which meant every water jump was a risky enterprise, but the rides went well.
Law thus received the silver medal, but Bettina Hoy had previously been relieved of 14 time penalty points. The CAS decided later that the organizers did not have the right to delete those penalty points (even though it was done for good reasons) and she was relegated to 14th place. Leslie Law received his gold medal at Buckingham Palace.
