His two-arm lift was of an equal value (111,5 kg) as Launceston Elliott, but he was given the gold medal because of a 'better style' (Elliott had moved a foot). Elliott won the one-arm lift.
The results of the Shot Put and Discus Throw are full of controversy, and I have chosen to follow Mallon.
