Fritz Jack

Olympic Competitor nr 4024

He is listed as having competed in 1912, but this is most probably not the case. He certainly did not compete in any other event, but he's listed in the team sabre. During the first round match against Great Britain, Sweden decided to withdraw from the competition. That meant that Germany had already qualified, and the match was stopped. At that moment, only three German fencers had fought. The fourth is listed as being Fritz Jack. However, the team sabre was contested by teams of maximum eight, with four fencers in each match. In the subsequent matches, eight different German fencers were aligned, so it is unlikely that Fritz Jack was the fourth fencer in the match against Great Britain.
