The city of Kumba was in German Kamerun, in the Western part that became a British protectorate after WWI, and was administered from Nigeria. The Southern part of British Cameroon (where Kumba is situated) merged with independent Cameroon, while the Northern part remained with Nigeria. Adiele stayed in Nigeria, though.
